We use topshots on all of the trolling rods - no swivel usually use an albright or alberto to joint the topshot to the braid or a uni to uni if joining to mono

I guess if you purchase pre-made topshot and braid you can use the loop to loop???

Thanks for the advise...I had 25' wind-on's on a couple of my outfits yesterday...baits looked good and looked to be swimming true but must have spun some because I noticed some twist in the line. I used a bimmini on the line side and connected loop to loop...was thinking maybe I needed an in-line swivel to eliminate the twist.

Ah, now i understand your question. What we do is run about 50-75 yards of top shot to a large snap swivel, then attach that to the actual leader which is about 5-10feet to the lure or bait

The snap swivel stops the line twist

I do basically the same thing. I connect my topshot to the braid with a loop to loop then the topshot gets either a snap swivel or wind on swivel to the actual leader. For trolling purposes I feel that it is important to have a swivel ahead of your bait to minimize twisting.
