Very true, I was in Maine once and was asked if I was from Alabama.
I didn't think I even had an accent. All relative I guess.
I was looking for a humorous angle and thought the "southern accent" was a good gag.
Dave, I can relate. In 1985 I moved to New Hampshire to teach. When I gave my very first lecture to my students they exclaimed listen to how this guy talks. They went out in student commons and brought in their friends. I don't think they heard a word I said but they sure enjoyed the way I said it.
I love that one. Now I know how to tell them apart too.
Way too funny
"A non-doer is very often a critic - that is, someone who sits back and watches doers, and then waxes philosophically about how the doers are doing. It's easy to be a critic, but being a doer requires effort, risk and change." Wayne Dyer
Take this test to find out what region your accent is from. Pretty accurate.
