Yamaha 115 4 stroke oil change made easy

Tilt the engine all the way up. Pull drain plug and screw a 4" X 1/4"ID standard NPT nipple with a little teflon tape on it into the hole. It screws in perfectly====no need to tighten it.Slide a flexible hose over the nipple about 2' to 3' long and fasten it,clamp, tape, whatever.Put oil pan in place ,lower engine til verticle, let drain while you drink a beer.
Put a cup under the filter and prick a hole in it toward the bottom edge with screwdriver, awl punch, you figure it out,let drain while you have another beer.Note, you may have to hold the drain cup in place,so have beer ready before hand.

Replace plug and filter, put a qt of oil in ,have a beer
    Put 2 more qts in,have a beer
Finish off with 2 qts and then its beer time.

    Works for me!

Don,after the first three it doesn`t matter.

At several places on the Metric and SAE scales they match or get extremely close.
I got a full thread with the NPT by hand, all to amazing.

Disclaimer===Always use proper metric/sae products where they are intened to be perminent.
Never drink alchohol while wrenching and/draining, pouring oil/installing filters. It may impair ones judgement
to pour the beer and oil in the proper hole.

How do you feel; about using cross referenced oil filters.I went from OEM to a NAPA Gold series.Yes a little cheaper,at least for now.
My Yammie engine is just a verticle car engine,or so Iv`e read.
Haven`t started it since oil change===will it blow.BTW,its way out of warranty.
Use OEM if still under warranty.

    Hey BB,

I've read elsewhere that some folks mix Seafoam with their oil. Thoughts or recommendations ?

Bad Kitty,I don`t mix it with oil,but it helps my arthuritus, hemeroids,
foot blisters ,squeeky door hindges and starts cold engines with just a spritz.

I dont have a four stroke Yammie but I will start practicing the the beer part awhile and when I feel totally comfortable with that part then I will look into the Yammie. LOL

I spent quite a bit of time today going to various locations trying to get the part you mentioned At all locations including a marine hardware specialty store they could not come up with anything that would match threads and have a nipple on it Any help would be appreciated

Sea Bear ,use a standard 1/4" National Pipe Thread nipple of 4"==5" or what ever. The nipple screws into the engine.Use a 1/2" inside diameter clear flexable tube to put over the nipple. All available at Lowes/Depot/Ace for approx $5=$6

OR stop by and get mine

This works on my 115=it may not work on different size engines,I don`t know

Those nipples are usually with the compression gas fittings at Ace.
